The combined treatment DCAP + aging 400°С + SPD by friction of the Cu–0.09Cr–0.08Zr SMC alloy gives rise to the friction-induced nanocrystalline structure with grains 15– 60 nm in size in the surface-layer material, which provides a high level of the microhardness and satisfactory tribological properties.

The slip is activated in the systems parallel to the direction of the indenter and thereto at an angle of 45°.
Three stages are identified on the F-N curve and the correlation of the stages with the beginning of the shear traces formation is shown.

The stages of the evolution of the structure of copper of commercial purity (99.9 wt% Cu) under cryogenic deformation by shear under pressure were studied. Mechanical twinning prevents the formation of a misoriented disperse structure and the development of recrystallization upon heating up to room temperature.

Formation and Stability of Ultrafine Structure of Commercial Purity Copper Deformed at 80 K

The stages of the evolution of the structure of copper of commercial purity (99.9 wt% Cu) under cryogenic deformation by shear under pressure were studied. Hatching distance effects on microstructure of additively manufactured specimens. Increased hatching distance speed up the manufacturing process, but the porosity level also increases. Reduced hatching distance results in overheating and bubbling of the printed material.
The small distance between parts during manufacturing can compensate the increased hatching distance.

It was found that severe plastic deformation (SPD) by the ECAP method leads to the dispersion of intermetallic particles and the weakening of the adhesive bond of the particles with the matrix. In the case of coarse particles, their milling causes a decrease in wear. In the case of fine particles, the weakening of adhesion to the matrix causes an increase in wear.
