The thermokinetics of shape recovery after bending of Ni-rich titanium nickelide was studied. Loading–unloading procedure was carried out in various phase states using isothermal and non-isothermal modes varying loading strain. The two-stage character of shape recovery under heating is revealed; the hypothesis of its origin is suggested.

(a) Scheme of an arbitrary pole of the sample surface (the edge of every round disc is made up of atoms at the step edges and atoms at the edge): A, C – atoms in the step edge; B – atom in the center of the plane (half of atoms bonds are broken); D – separately placed atom at the edge of the plane (has one non broken bond).
(b) Field ion image of the disordered state of the alloy Fe25Pd50Au25. The statistical arrangement of atoms in the crystal lattice shows a chaotic contrast of the surface image.
(c) Field ion image of the ordered state of Fe25Pd50Au25 alloy. Fe and Au atoms provide contrast in the field ion image, Pd atoms do not provide contrast.

Unlike of our previous report the method suggested takes into account consideration the initial stage of superplastic forming, when the pressure of the inert gas changes from the initial zero level to a pre-given constant value. It is shown that such kind refinement enables one to improve considerably the accuracy of calculating the value of the strain rate sensitivity index, m, and, as a result, to provide more accurate finite element description of the superplastic forming processes.

The structure of a sample obtained by consolidation of four sheets of CP Ti was examined. It was shown that the quality of bonding between the sheets decreases from the bottom to the top and the formation of a joint of satisfactory quality was accompanied by a change in the microtexture, weak grain growth and the formation of a subgrain structure.

An ultrasonic treatment prevents the formation of cavities and allows to produce the NiTi sample at higher pre-heating temperature. An increase in pre-heating temperature increases the width of reacted zone that leads to efective infleunces of the USV on the sample structure.
