Abstract
The paper deals with preparation of ceramic composites based on of titanium and chromium borides produced by the method combining self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) and consolidation hot reaction product under pressure. It was shown that SHS products are solid solution of titanium and chromium diborides (disperse phase) and monoboride chromium (ceramic bond). The influence nanoparticles TiN, introducing into green mixture as functional additives on the microstructure of ceramic composite. It was shown that introducing nanoparticles TiN into green mixture provided prepare ceramic composites with fine microstructure. The ceramic composites with minimal residual porosity (1-3%) and high microhardness (2250 kg/mm2) were obtained.
