About pore-formation question in titanium VT6 alloy due low temperature superplasticity

Abstract

Uniaxial tension and superplastic forming experiments are performed with ultra fine grained titanium VT6 alloy under conditions of low temperature superplasticity at temperatures 600 and 650оС. The initial mean grain size in ultra fine grained titanium VT6 alloy was 0,2 mm. Pores were not display at the steady superplastic state up to 600% of sample extension. It is revealed accelerated a and b-phase grain growth stimulated by superplastic deformation.
